Steps for manual backwashing of the filter

Manual backwashing filters are effective water treatment devices that can remove impurities and particles from water and keep it clean. The following are the operation steps of the manual backwashing filter:

1. Close the water inlet valve and stop supplying water to the filter.

2. Open the drain valve to empty the water in the filter. This step is to ensure that during the backwashing process, the dirt can be washed away effectively.

3. Rotate the backwash handwheel to the backwash position. Usually, there will be clear markings on the backwash handwheel, indicating the positions of forward and backwash.

4. Open the water inlet valve and let the water flow through the filter in the opposite direction to wash away the dirt accumulated on the filter element. During this process, it can be observed that the discharged water gradually changes from turbid to clear.

5. Keep backwashing until the discharged water becomes clear. This indicates that the dirt on the filter element has been washed away effectively .

6. Close the drain valve and stop backwashing. Then rotate the backwash handwheel to the forward flushing position again, and get ready to resume the normal filtration operation.

7. Open the water inlet valve to put the filter back into use. At this point, the filter element that has undergone backwashing can filter impurities in the water more efficiently.
